Introduction

Welcome to the Apache Junction Women’s Club digital scrapbook archive. From 1960 to 1993, the Women’s Club played a prominent role in the Apache Junction area. For over thirty years, these women fought to introduce and improve library services. They attempted to improve access to, and quality of, education. The club also worked to ensure access to foster homes and domestic violence services. These are just a small sample of the many activities sponsored by the Apache Junction Women’s Club through this time period.

This Women’s Club created scrapbooks throughout much of their history, which are currently stored at the Apache Junction Public Library. This website provides digital access to the scrapbooks; however, more importantly it tells the stories of what these women accomplished, and ties to both the historical and present values of the Apache Junction area.

We hope you enjoy travelling through time and exploring Apache Junction through the eyes of the Apache Junction Women’s Club and their Scrapbooks!
